Morphy vs Duke of Brunswick & Count Isouard,
Paris Opera, 1858. This is the same board your coaches teach on.
2. The problem

Coaching is the easy part.

Most academies run on a WhatsApp group, a notebook of attendance, a spreadsheet of fees, and a video call where nobody can see the board properly. It works until you have more than a handful of students.

The board nobody can see

Holding a physical board up to a laptop camera. Children squinting at a reflection, calling out moves that never land.

Fees you chase every month

Who has paid, who has not, who has left. Reconstructed from memory and a WhatsApp scroll on the last Sunday of the month.

Parents who cannot see progress

"How is my child doing?" answered with a feeling rather than a record. The parents who leave are usually the ones who never saw the improvement.

3. The classroom

A real board, shared instantly.

The coach plays on a master board and every student sees it move as it happens. Hand the board to a child to make a move in front of the class. Pair students against each other and watch all their games at once.

Arrows, circles and highlights

Draw on the board the way you would with chalk. Every student sees the mark appear.

Class control

One button pauses every student game so the room actually listens to your explanation.

Voice and video, in the page

The call sits beside the board rather than in a second tab. Students join muted; you decide who speaks.

Load a position in seconds

Paste a PGN or FEN, set a position up by hand, or work from a photograph of a book diagram.

Square names for beginners

Print the name on every square while children are still learning the grid, then switch it off.

Simultaneous games

Pair one student against several. Each board updates live, and you see the lot.

4. Between classes

Students keep playing when you are not there.

Puzzles that record themselves

Tactics sorted by theme and difficulty. Every attempt counts towards the scoreboard, so you know who is actually practising.

Six levels of computer opponent

From a beginner who misses captures to a full-strength engine — all running in the browser, so it works on a weak connection.

Analysis of their own games

Every class game is saved. Students replay them, see where the game turned, and share the PGN with a friend.

Their online games too

Link a lichess or Chess.com account and those games arrive here for the coach to look through.

Courses and quizzes

Build a syllabus in levels and lessons. Quizzes mark themselves and feed the progress report.

A club rating

Everyone starts at 200. Four points for a win, four off for a loss. Children take it more seriously than you would expect.

5. The paperwork

Attendance and fees stop being Sunday's job.

Attendance in one tap per child

The day's batches are on the dashboard when you sign in. Present, absent, late, excused — then a monthly register you can hand to a parent.

Fees you can see at a glance

Record a payment against a period, approve it, and the outstanding list keeps itself. Every student has a fee history a parent can be shown.

“The report a parent gets at the end of term is the thing that keeps the child enrolled. Attendance, rating, puzzles, quizzes — on one page, with your name on it.”

Why we built the student report first
6. Your name, not ours

White-labelled, properly.

Your academy's name in the sidebar, your logo, your colours, your own sign-in link. Students and parents see your brand. We stay out of the way.
